Candied Cranberries

I love the tartness of cranberries. These candied cranberries are a little bit sweet and pop with flavor. These taste delicious fresh from the oven, at room temperature, or refrigerated. If you like cranberries, then you will love these!!
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups 7 UP or similar soda
1 cup orange juice
12 ounces fresh cranberries
1 cup powdered sugar
DIRECTIONS:
- Rinse the cranberries in water.
- Mix the soda and orange juice in a large bowl. Add the cranberries and soak for at least 24 hours.
- Drain the cranberries using a colander.
- Add the cranberries to a gallon storage bag and add sugar a half cup at a time.
- Close and shake the bag to coat the cranberries.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Spread out the cranberries in an even layer. (Sprinkle additional powdered sugar if you want the cranberries to be extra sweet.)
- Bake 5-10 minutes at 350. The original recipe I found recommended 200 degrees, but my cranberries did not soften or warm up until 5 minutes at 350.
- Let the cranberries cool and harden on the parchment paper.
- These taste great warm, at room temperature, or cooled if you transfer to an air tight container and refrigerate.
- Enjoy!
