Blackened Tilapia
If you don’t have a blackened spice blend on hand then you can make your own using the spices in this recipe. The tilapia was full of flavor with just the right amount of spice.
Recipe adapted from Food Network
Ingredients:
6 tilapia filets
½ lemon juiced
1 tablespoon grapeseed oil
Blackening Spice Mix-
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon salt
½ tablespoon onion powder
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
½ teaspoon ground thyme
1 teaspoon dried oregano
½ teaspoon garlic powder
Directions:
- Mix spices in a small bowl.
- Preheat grill to max heat. (I used my Ninja grill.)
- Drizzle grapeseed oil over tilapia and rub in or spray with olive oil spray.
- Sprinkle seasoning over fish. Lightly rub in. Let the fish sit while the grill pre-heats.
- Grill fish 3 minutes per side.
- Drizzle fresh lemon juice over fish.
- Enjoy!
