S’more Cake
One night my family was in the mood for S’mores, but we didn’t have time to make a fire in the fire pit, so instead we made a S’more cake. The cake tasted delicious warm from the oven. We microwaved leftovers for 30 seconds and topped with vanilla ice cream for a truly gooey and tasty dessert.
Recipe adapted from Pampered Chef
Ingredients:
3 milk chocolate candy bars 1.55 ounce broken into squares
1 devils food cake mix
1 egg
1 8 ounce container reduced fat sour cream
1 10 ounce bag regular marshmallows or enough jumbo marshmallows to fill top the cake
3 reduced fat graham crackers crushed
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a round 9 inch pan.
- Microwave the chocolate bar for 30-60 seconds. Stir. Set aside.
- Combine the cake mix, sour cream, and egg. Mix to combine.
- Transfer the batter to the cake pan.
- Bake 22-24 minutes.
- Remove cake from oven when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Set broiler to high.
- Arrange marshmallows to cover the top of the cake.
- Broil for 3-6 minutes until marshmallows are slightly browned. (Less time if using mini marshmallows. I used jumbo marshmallows.)
- Sprinkle crushed graham crackers and drizzle with melted chocolate.
- Enjoy!
