I have been craving pecans like crazy this fall and these pecans are something I will be making over and over again.
Recipe adapted from Food Network
Ingredients:
1 large egg white
1 tablespoon water
¼ cup packed light brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground allspice
¼ teaspoon ground cumin
¼ teaspoon salt
Pinch of cayenne pepper
2 cups pecan halves
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl beat the egg whites and water until frothy. In a separate bowl combine the sugar, cinnamon, allspice, cumin, salt, and cayenne.
- Stir the sugar mixture into the egg whites and add the pecans. Toss to coat the pecans.
- Spread the nuts on the baking sheet and bake 20-30 minutes until crispy.
- Let cool completely. Then store in an air tight container.
