French Onion Green Beans
If you are craving the fried onions from green bean casserole but looking for a lighter dish then I have the answer for you. This dish is easy to make, is packed with flavor, and low on calories and fat.
Ingredients:
2 cups green beans trimmed and cut into 2 inch segments
½ sweet onion sliced
1 garlic clove diced
¼ cup fried onions
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil (I used Hickory Smoked Grapeseed Oil)
Directions:
- Spray a nonstick pan with olive oil spray. Add the green beans, garlic, and onions to the pan. Drizzle the olive oil/grapeseed oil over the green beans. Cook on medium heat for 5-10 minutes mixing frequently.
- Sprinkle fried onions on top.
