Powered Up French Toast

I hadn’t made French toast in years, but I was craving it so I decided to make French toast with a protein boost. 

Ingredients:

1 loaf (I used Pepperidge Farm Cinnamon Swirl bread)

4 eggs

1 scoop vanilla protein powder

½ cup milk

Dash of cinnamon

Toppings: strawberry rhubarb jam, fresh strawberries, powdered sugar

Directions:

  1. Heat a flat nonstick skillet on medium heat. Spray with nonstick butter spray.
  2. Mix eggs, protein powder, and milk in a large bowl or flat dish. Whisk well to dissolve protein powder.
  3. Dip both sides of each piece of bread.  Place bread on the skillet. 
  4. Sprinkle each slice with cinnamon.
  5. Flip after 5 minutes. 
  6. Transfer to a covered dish to keep warm until ready to serve.
  7. Top with nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt, jam, fresh fruit, or syrup.
