Powered Up French Toast
I hadn’t made French toast in years, but I was craving it so I decided to make French toast with a protein boost.
Ingredients:
1 loaf (I used Pepperidge Farm Cinnamon Swirl bread)
4 eggs
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
½ cup milk
Dash of cinnamon
Toppings: strawberry rhubarb jam, fresh strawberries, powdered sugar
Directions:
- Heat a flat nonstick skillet on medium heat. Spray with nonstick butter spray.
- Mix eggs, protein powder, and milk in a large bowl or flat dish. Whisk well to dissolve protein powder.
- Dip both sides of each piece of bread. Place bread on the skillet.
- Sprinkle each slice with cinnamon.
- Flip after 5 minutes.
- Transfer to a covered dish to keep warm until ready to serve.
- Top with nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt, jam, fresh fruit, or syrup.
